Two Fifty

The Lord impressed upon me to return the two dollars and fifty cents to the store Manager. She previously returned the money after I complained about the taste of a bottled coffee drink that was expired, she gently stated that it was a “best by” date.

Even when I moved out of the area, the Lord reminded me that I failed to return it.  Two years went by, I came across a receipt from ‘that’ store – it bothered me.  I knew I had to act.  A week later, coming home from a conference, there was the store?  I pulled in, yes, the employees said, the store is in a new location!

Seemingly benign amount of money.  She almost didn’t want to take it; leaving, I felt a relief.  It’s for the Lord to say and for us to do.

Dear Lord, help us to hear Your voice and act accordingly, in Jesus’ name.

“So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.”

1Samuel 15:22 (NKJV).

Old and New Prophetic Words

We heard a sermon where Jesus said He’s going to breathe on your prophetic word.  He’ll breathe new life on it, though you began to wonder when and if it’s ever going to happen (Banning Liebscher).

The Holy Spirit is innovative, my Pastor’s wife, Martha said, He’s always doing something new.  Recently I listened to a seven year old prophecy that I’m a mighty woman of God.  When people called me that two years ago, I still had trouble believing it.  However, when you’re doing things for the Father, like interceding where there’s no glory, you’re not noticing what you look like.

It reminds me of when Gideon in Judges 6:12, was called mighty in God, and wasn’t feelin it.  “And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, ‘The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!'”

Now mostly when I hear a prophetic word, it’s a direct answer and guidance to what’s going on in my life now, not so far-fetched sounding.

Failed Test?

Myself and a close friend each recently failed our individual tests.  Why?  Were we ill-prepared, too distracted?  Have too many fires burning?

It’s a chance to recalculate our goals and intentions, and move forward in a more confident way.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV).

“Your word is lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 (NKJV).

“The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.” Job 17:9 (KJV).
