It’s Impossible for God to Lie

Hebrews 6:17-20 (NKJV):

Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

Proverbs¬†6:16-17, These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,”

Proverbs 11:1, “The LORD detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with Him.”

Prov 20:23, “The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please Him.”

Jesus says in Luke 12:2, “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.”

O Lord, we can’t run from You, nor do we want to.

This Hebrews verse jumped off the page when I found it the other day. I recalled a few years ago speaking with a stranger, me with my Bible, he stated the little he knew about God and what He had to do in this man’s life: God can’t lie.¬† After writing this blog, I found this wonderful article: http://counselingoneanother.com/2011/06/27/a-dozen-reasons-god-hates-lying-liars/
