Remember That?

Acts 11:16 (NIV), BibleGateway

Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’”

Do you remember what you were thinking when you decided to move to a new city? The hopes you had when you bought that house? Your plans for retirement?

God’s able to make your dreams come true.

My sister and I used to laugh at the Chris Farley skit on Saturday Night Live, when he’d constantly ask, “Do you remember that?”

Psalm 92

Praise to the Lord for His Love and Faithfulness

A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath day.

IT is good to give thanks to the LORD,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night,
3On an instrument of ten strings,
On the lute,
And on the harp,
With harmonious sound.
4 For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands.

5O LORD, how great are Your works!
Your thoughts are very deep.
6 A

senseless man does not know,
Nor does a fool understand this.
7 When the wicked spring up like grass,
And when all the workers of iniquity flourish,
It is that they may be destroyed forever.
8 But You, LORD, are on high forevermore. 9 For behold, Your enemies, O LORD,
For behold, Your enemies shall perish;
All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox;
I have been anointed with fresh oil.
11My eye also has seen my desire on my enemies;
My ears hear my desire on the wicked
Who rise up against me.

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those who are planted in the house of the LORD
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be fresh and flourishing,
15
To declare that the LORD is upright;
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

My friend donated this exact amount for a recent fundraiser.  Deciding to look at Psalm for further meaning than his generosity,  What a beautiful, powerful prayer.

Lord Father, praise You, Lord God, for You are higher than anything on earth. You give purpose and meaning.  We pray for our enemies that they also turn from lies and deceit and back to You, Who abundantly pardon.

“For Such A Time As This”

Wayne Watson song

God has a plan for you all (Jeremiah 29:11)

Whatever it is Lord”

Honesty, I heard this amazing, timely song on Touched By An Angel, same title, Season 6, Episode 1.

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11

“I Live”

heard in my spirit February 10th.  It reminded me of “…Because I live, you will live also.”  Jesus in John 14:19.

Who can argue with Jesus? Ravi Zacharias was given this verse after his failed suicide attempt as a teen. Ravi explains even more on The Eric Metaxes Radio Show.

“And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”                           2 Corinthians 5:15

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Philippians 1:21

Also an amazing song by Sidewalk Prophets.

God is Everything

A song sung during an Alaskan mission trip at the park.  It encouraged me because all the other singers performed secular music and I was so far from home and felt lonely, even though I was amongst other believers.

“God made everything with a place and purpose; even the wicked are included – but for judgment.” Proverbs 16:4 (The Message).

“For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16 (NIV).

I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.

One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.
I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.
Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness.
They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, And shall sing of Your righteousness.

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

All Your works shall praise You, O Lord, And Your saints shall bless You.
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of Your power,
To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

The Lord upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season.
You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
The Lord preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy.
My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, And all flesh shall bless His holy name Forever and ever.

Psalm 145 (NKJV)

Failed Test?

Myself and a close friend each recently failed our individual tests.  Why?  Were we ill-prepared, too distracted?  Have too many fires burning?

It’s a chance to recalculate our goals and intentions, and move forward in a more confident way.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV).

“Your word is lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 (NKJV).

“The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.” Job 17:9 (KJV).
