God’s An Open Book

You can’t control Him, but He will let His servants know what He’s doing (Amos 3:7).

God is love:

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.,” 1 Jn 4:7-10 (NKJV).

God is a consuming fire:

“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29 (KJV).

God is your Friend:

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his Master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you,” John 15:15 (NIV).

God is lovingkindness:

“They refused to listen, And did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You had performed among them; So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt But You are a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness; And You did not forsake them.” Nehemiah 9:17.

God is Spirit:

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 (NKJV).  “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galations 5:22-23 (NIV).

God is Holy:

“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.” Matthew 6:9:1 (NKJV).

The Lord reigns;
Let the peoples tremble!
He dwells between the cherubim;
Let the earth be moved!
The Lord is great in Zion,
And He is high above all the peoples.
Let them praise Your great and awesome name—
He is holy.

The King’s strength also loves justice;
You have established equity;
You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His footstool—
He is holy.

Moses and Aaron were among His priests,
And Samuel was among those who called upon His name;
They called upon the Lord, and He answered them.
He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar;
They kept His testimonies and the [c]ordinance He gave them.

You answered them, O Lord our God;
You were to them God-Who-Forgives,
Though You took vengeance on their deeds.
Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His holy hill;
For the Lord our God is holy.” Psalm 99 (NKJV).

Psalm 63:1-3, “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You:

my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry & thirsty land, where no water is; to see Your power & Your glory, so as I have seen You in the sanctuary.

“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.”

Dear Lord, reading You loud and clear!  Reading through The Scarlet Thread, she quotes Psalm 63!   Last week Ps63:3, was quoted to me, the other day telling a friend the Pastor read Psalm 63 at the Hospice lunch.

Bless the Lord, O my soul:…

 …and all that is within me, bless His holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from destruction; Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  The Lord executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. (Psalm 103:1-6).

Thank You, Lord Daddy!

Mercies

Psalm 51:1, “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.”  Psalm 116:1-2, 5 says, “I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications.  Because He has inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.  Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

Let the house of Aaron now say, that His mercy endures forever,” Psalm 118:3. Psalm 44:26, “Arise for our help, and redeem us for Your mercies’ sake.”  Psalm 103:3-4, “Who redeems your life from destruction; Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies;”

Be you therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful,” says Jesus in Luke 6:36.  “So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shews mercy,” Romans 9:16.
