“No Idling” Road Sign

We saw this sign coming out of the rest stop off the highway.  It sounds like: Did you remove the high places where you used to sacrifice to your idols?

“Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.” 2 Chronicles 20:33 (KJV).

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.”  Jesus in Luke 9:24-26 (NKJV).

Turn away my eyes

“Make me walk in the path of Your commandments,
For I delight in it.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to covetousness.
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your way.” Ps 119:35-37 (NKJV).

“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Colossians 3:5 (NKJV).

Manasseh put away the altars to other gods in 2 Chronicles 33:15.

Jesus says the eye is the lamp of the body in Matthew 6:22.

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'” Hebrews 13:5.

“Their precious things shall not profit.” Isaiah 44:9 (NKJV).

*Put away your addictions that are idols and be one with God the Father.

John 17:20-23 (NKJV): I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”
