The Fire Comes

“John answered, saying to all, ‘I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.’ ” Luke 3:16

Burning yellow embers is Your fiery sunset, Lord God.

You, God are the Deliverer, the Provider, the Hope giver, the Life giver, not like it was – it’s all new (2 Samuel 22:2, Psalm 28, Romans 15:13, John 1:4)

“Each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.” 1 Corinthians 3:13

  • Not the same – it’s going to be new (Revelation 21:5)

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14

Early this year, Pastor John Arnott of Catch the Fire, Toronto said that God would do many new things in 2019.

Test the Spirits

1 John 4:1-2, says, “Beloved believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out in the world. Hereby know you the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God…”

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I’m known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12

*It’s hard when even our prophetic friends and pastors may not see clearly to lead you and guide you as you once thought.  When you have a check in your spirit, you need to ask the Lord.  The Holy Spirit is always saying new things, bringing revelation, if a well-meaning person has the same three year old word for you, it may not be the Spirit.  And some say if the same one person in church always has a word or tongues, you need to ask the Lord.

*Are we repeating the same memorized syllables of foreign tongues?  Or teaching Bible Study from head knowledge, but no flow of the Holy Spirit? Is anyone you know self-promoting, jealous, giving false prophecies saying if you don’t see the manifestation of the prophecy, it’s because of you. “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.” (Jon 16:13)

Acts 13: 6-7, “And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain magician, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.”  Matthew 7:15-17, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.”

The song says, They’ll know we are Christians by our love. John 13:34-35, says, “A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.”

*Share how you test the spirits in your church and life…

Pray for Your Neighbors

and those you don’t like, without exception, says Jesus in Matthew 5:43-48.  Are they revelling in the dark side?  They could be your relatives, too.  Jesus is the Power over the darkness in our lives.  He is all authority in heaven and in earth.  He alone is the Key to the Door of life (John 10:9), Holy life.

Some believers say, ‘okay condemn those evil doers,’ but we wrestle not against flesh & blood, but against powers and principalities of darkness (Ephesians 6:12-18).

God’s love is the greatest power, it’s beyond our comprehension.  That’s why He allowed His son, Jesus, to die for the forgiveness of our sins(?).  Because He loves us.  He made us, we’re His creation, the sheep of His pasture (Psalm 100:3).

Jesus is on His throne in heaven and dwells in us as the Holy Spirit, when we invite Him in (Revelation 3:20).
