“I delight to do Thy will, O my God: yea, Thy law is within my heart.” Psalm 40:8

  • Church plant failure? It took a lot of money and people’s resources, the Pastor said.
  • Business disaster?
  • Divorce?
  • Child loss? Hillary Scott’s song: ‘How is my pain part of Your plan?’

We’re not immune from these, but we get up again. Haven’t you all heard people say: I was following You, God, obeying You, then ‘the bottom drops out’?

“We may have the vision of God and a very clear understanding of what God wants, and yet when we start to do it, there comes to us something equivalent to Moses’ forty years in the wilderness.”

Man in a Cave

Separated from his family, living alone.  Seeming a small disaster.  What if every step to isolation was God’s plan to come in & recreate you?  Saying you’ve had your way, now this is how God is going to come first…in Glory.

What?  How Moses fled Egypt & was a sheep herder for years only to be Israel’s Shepherd to the Promised Land & write the 1st five books of the Bible?  What of Joseph, Rachel & Jacob’s son, who spent 13 years in an Egyptian jail, until being promoted to Pharoh’s governor and save all of Israel from the coming famine.

“Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10.

The Planner

“Your eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in Your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” (Psalm 139:16).  Proverbs 16:1, says, “The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.”

“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.” (Luke 8:17).

Ecclesiastes 7:1, reads, “A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.” Jesus says, “today you’ll be with Me in paradise,” in Luke 23:43.
