Board Shorts

We scoured the internet for board shorts to wear at the Dead Sea part of our church’s 2006, Israel tour.  My roommate and I finally received them by mail in no time to spare before departing.  When we arrived at the Dead Sea?  There was a little shop that sold many items you might need including … board shorts.  We had to laugh.

How wide, how deep, is His love for me.  God’s arm isn’t too short, He is able to provide you what you need, and He knows more about it than you do.

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV), “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Eph 3:20, “Now to Him Who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us,”

Psalm 36: 7-8, “How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Your house; and You shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end.”

Jeremiah 29:10-11, “For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Believe

“And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith,” Luke 17:5

Jesus said in Mark 11:24, “Therefore I say unto you, that what things you so desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.”

“The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe.  And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then said He to Thomas, Reach hither your finger, and behold My hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing.  And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and my God.  Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” John 20:26-29.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me, John 14:1.

“[convict them] Of sin, because they believe not on Me,” John 16:9.

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Believe you this?” John 11:25-26; vs. 40: “Jesus said unto her, Said I not unto you, that, if you would believe, you should see the glory of God?”

Pray

Anyway you pray is okay.  You are talking to God our holy Father or Lord Jesus your Brother, or Holy Spirit.

A little girl told me the right way is to hold your hands palms together.  One woman asked, “should we hold hands?,” before prayer.  You can even keep your eyes open.  One friend says you must pray with your own words, not formal prayers.

Joel Osteen says, “talk to God like you’re talking to your Best Friend.  And thank Him.”

“Don’t Believe It” (circumstances)

The Lord said this during church service this past summer.  Can you apply this to your life?

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal,” 2 Cor 4:18.

Paul says in 2 Cor 1:8, “we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life.”  Again in 2 Cor 4:8, “we’re trouble on every side…”, vs. 7, “we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power my be of God & not of us.”

We Can’t Lose

*Tell how you’ve learned courage with faith.

“What shall we say to these things?  If God is for us who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

Jesus says, “For whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother.” (John 12:50).

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” says Jesus in John 16:33.   “He intercedes for us,” says Romans 8:34.  “Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ,” reads Philippians 1:6.

“Whoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God” (1John 5:4-5).

Reasoning on Faith

Is their faith in God head knowledge?  They try to figure Him out, but He’s out of the box.  The word says, “Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite,” in Psalm 147:5.

The reason he or she can’t have faith in God the Father may be because they can’t understand Him.  Whereas Jesus lives in your heart (John 14:17).  The heart is above the mind in Jesus’ and God the Father’s words.  That’s where you truly are.  That’s why God looked in David’s heart and chose him as king of Israel in 1 Samuel 16, beyond the reasoning of even Samuel the powerful prophet.

Some religions have rules that if they’re not followed it may seem irreverant.  How can someone be justified of being saved by God and being in His holy family?  We can’t.  We are saved by faith through grace , says Ephesians 2:8.
