“When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where was a garden, which He and His disciples entered… Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.” John 18:1, 12
God will comfort you:
“For the Lord will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.” Isaiah 51:3
We receive work:
“Then the Lord God took [a]the man and put him in the garden of Eden to [b]tend and keep it.” Genesis 2:15
We receive paradise:
“In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.” Revelation 22:2-3
Walking over a small foot bridge at the quiet park, a stream babbled underneath coming downstream, but looking on the other side of the bridge, there was no movement in the water. I looked down on either side and the moving water was stopped by a tiny pile of sticks and leaves, then on the opposite side – stillness.
A close friend came to mind, how much God is pouring into him and I’m looking for signs of fruit. Many times I’ve been to Christian conferences when my friends and I seem to take in different things, they more atuned to the teachings.
Are your friends drinking in and bearing fruit?
“Early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began to teach them.” John 8:2.
Dear Jesus, Let us remember to love and not lose faith in You, to lift up our brothers and sisters in the Word, to not lose heart, but encourage each other.
Ecc 5:4-5, “When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it (NIV). “Vow, and pay to the Lord your God,” Psalm 76:11.
People really learn how to trust you when you’re faithful and keep your word. How valuable it would be to earn God’s trust?
If you forget what you promised Him, like I’ve done, He’ll remind you. Then it’s up to you to follow through. I got it in my head to send my 3 sisters, “The Hiding Place” by Corrie ten Boom, because I loved the father figure in it. Some time went by, then my church was giving away used books, including “The Hiding Place”. I then fulfilled what I originally thought didn’t affect Him. He will honor what you do, and bear fruit through it.
