Hole in the Shirt

Questioning the Lord, WHY this particular fav shirt had to get a hole in it from the dryer a few months ago.  The hole is in the center of the front of the shirt which is only good for working outside or inside the house now, for which of course I kept it.

When the boss wore the same color shirt today I told my little shirt tale lamentation.  Which prompted another employee to reveal her tale of being nailed to the fence through her expensive shirt as a former friends’ cruel joke.  She angrily threw out her shirt after the episode. (She further revealed her father’s superstitious beliefs in the occult.)

Thinking to the Lord, could this be WHY?  For the unresolved cruelty to be brought out in the open, under God’s kind eyes?  For Him to say to her, “I’ve got you, my sweet one, and no one’s ever going to hurt you again”?

Always ask Him WHY, sometimes you’ll get an answer.  We don’t always need to know why we’re interceding for someone, He knows.

Jesus says, ““Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” in Matt 11:28.

Jesus says, John 14:18, “I’m not going to forsake you like orphans. I will come back to you.”

Psalm 12:7 (NIV), “You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked.”

Psalm 56:8 (NLT), “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

2 Corinthians 1:5 (NKJV), “Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”

Dear Jesus, You are the filler of all my holes, You filled baby Scott’s opening, You fill our hearts with joy and life.  Be exalted dear Lord, be magnified, dear Lord.

“I need to be fulfilled,” she told me.  Family activities, church and volunteering aren’t enough.

How do you get fulfilled?  Some say; coming to work, being with people, reading the Bible and praying everyday.

O Lord, You are my filler of empty places.  Moreover, You answer me when I have not told even a soul.

Jesus says in John 17:13, “And now come I to You; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have My joy fulfilled in themselves.”

Psalm 107:9, “for He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”

The were filled, Matthew 15:37, “And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.”

John 6:12, “When they were filled, He said unto His disciples, ‘gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.'”

Life’s a Paradox

He makes all things (including the ugliest) new (Rev 21:5).    He makes all things beautiful (Ecc 3).

How’s your heart? Are your eyes beautiful, hopeful?  Is the glass half-full?

If you lose your life, you’ll find it? (Matt 16:25).  Though a righteous man fall 7 times, he’ll get up? (Proverbs 24:16).  Can anything good come from Nazareth? (John 1:46). “In Him was life, and the life of men.” John 1:4.

Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled? (Matt 5:6).

The Lord gave Job double (Job 42:10).  Ruth 2:10: “Why have I found grace in your eyes, seeing I am a stranger?”

“He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength.” Isaiah 40:29.  “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.” Isaiah 60:22.

Genesis 2:7, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

“Jesus said, My grace is sufficient for you: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”  2 Corinthians 12:9.

“Jesus said, tell John; the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and to the poor the gospel is preached.” Luke 7:22.
