Salsa / Cheese / Ground Beef Dip

“Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” John 21:12 (NIV).  You may not want this  for breakfast, but this recipe is a tried and true crowd pleaser!

Ingredients:

  • 4 Cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • 1 Pound Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 16 Ounce Jar of Salsa (I love Newman’s or Chili’s)
  • 1/4 Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 Turmeric
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • Tortilla Chips
  • Sour Cream

In a large skillet, sauté garlic in olive oil on medium/low heat till soft, about 5 minutes.  Stir in the oregano, cumin, coriander, red pepper and turmeric, add the ground beef, gently breaking it up and sprinkling sea salt on it. Toss and cook till just brown, about 10 minutes.  Combine the meat mixture, salsa and shredded cheddar cheese in a large baking dish.  Bake at 350 degree Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes or till bubbly.

Serve with Tortilla chips and sour cream.

Higher Calling

“That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:6

Do you know those who are focused, good-natured, unphased by circumstances?  Marching to the beat of their own drum?

“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” 1 Corinthians 9:16 (KJV).

Whoever loves his life will lose it, but whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life“. says Jesus in John 12:25.

If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciples.

“And whoever does no bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple,” Jesus in Luke 14:26-27 (NKJV).

Challenge to Worship the Father

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Jesus says in John 4:24 (NKJV).

Dated January 2012, Carol’s testimony and challenge to Worship

I first visited Catch the Fire in Virginia Beach, Virginia February 2012, where God healed me of arthritis.  This testimony was recorded shortly before the conference.  A new start a new level in God’s presence!

Zechariah 2 (NKJV)

Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand. So I said, “Where are you going?”

And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.”

And there was the angel who talked with me, going out; and another angel was coming out to meet him, who said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying: ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”

“Up, up! Flee from the land of the north,” says the Lord; “for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of heaven,” says the Lord. “Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.”

“For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.

“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the Lord. “Many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.  And the Lord will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem. Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!”

Wake Up Call

James 1:1-3 (NIV), “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

Jesus says, Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.” Matthew 23:23 (NKJV).

Psalm 51:4, says, “Against You only have I sinned”

Verse 6, “You desire truth in the inward parts.”

James 1:11 (NIV), “For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.”

Psalm 119:71 (NKJV), “It is good for me that I have been afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.

O Lord?  May we never be ashamed, but come to You with our hearts wide open, turning away from our sin and knowing Your love.

Song Bird

“Caring is very important to the Lord,” a friend said.

My husband fills the bird feeder regularly and today began putting some seed under the deck for the Chickadees.  Suddenly, 3 Mourning Doves came under the deck and under the feeder.  Perhaps for future mating?

Heard “Songbird” in my spirit several times that day while remembering how lovingly he does call & care for me.

Matthew 6:26 (NKJV), “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” said Jesus

Young Men – Young Women

“We need young men, young women with the wisdom of God” said Ravi Zacharias.

Dear Lord, raise up the youth to have hearts like Yours.  People cry out for more goodness in the world, when all goodness comes from You, O God.  Touch and anoint our youth to be holy and walk with You, Leaders filled with wisdom and integrity.

“You tested my heart” Jeremiah 12:3

A high school student found my diamond ring in the gym locker room before going to school and returned it to the front desk.  Hallelujah glory to You, Lord!

That night in the restaurant parking lot I saw a bracelet next to the car.  We gave it to the host who said it probably belonged to one of the teens who were in earlier.

Genesis 1:27, “So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV).

1 Samuel 17:33, “And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”

1 Samuel 17:46, “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.”

Luke 1:38, “Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.”

Esther 4:14 (NIV), “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Greater Works

Proverbs 27:9 (KJV), ““Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.”

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” says Jesus in John 14:12 (KJV).

Go. Preach. Heal book by Adam Livecchi

May you be blessed by this book by a wonderful friend and man of God, Adam.

Sweeten The Pot

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

“And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

“And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”                                  Exodus 15:23-26 (KJV)

This saying came to my spirit throughout our courtship last year. Can I liken the marriage to the sweetened waters of Moses’ time?

God’s no respecter of  persons.  What He says to one He reveals to you, too, His children.  He’ll do it again.

God Possible!

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” The angel Gabriel assures Mary, Jesus’s mom in Luke 1:37 (KJV).

“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”” in Matthew 19:23 (NKJV).

“Then He said to them, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!’ And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

46-47: “Then He said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.'”

Does anyone else see these Bible verses and say what was I so worried about?
