It’s Hidden

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV), “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Colossians 2:2-4 (NIV), “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.”

We were talking with friends tonight who recently took a trip to Thailand and noted they were rich…in their hearts, though not materially.

Jesus taught in Matt 13:44, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”

I’ll Pay My Vows

“But I will sacrifice unto Thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed.  Salvation is of the Lord.” Jonah 2:9 (KJV).

Jesus says in Matt 5:33-37, 42 (NASB) “Again, you have heard that the ancients were told, ‘YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FALSE VOWS, BUT SHALL FULFILL YOUR VOWS TO THE LORD.’ “But I say to you, make no oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, or by Jerusalem, for it is THE CITY OF THE GREAT KING. “Nor shall you make an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. “But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil.” “Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.”

You won’t get a paycheck, but if you pay what you promised, the Lord Who seeks righteousness will know.  Two years ago I gave away my hair, clothes and car.

Dr. David Jeremiah describes generosity as giving and not expecting anything back (TBN).

Ecclesiastes 5:4 (KJV), “When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.”

2 Chronicles 16:9 (NIV), “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

Hearts Burning

“For God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29.

“They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”” Luke 24:32.

Ignite the coals of your heart for the Lord, people, instead of making incendiary comments.

Against You, You only, have I sinned Lord (Psalm 51), by not harkening to Your commands and by putting You last when Your words are life and all life comes from You (2 Peter 1:3). Burn off the chaff O Lord, so that all that remains is YOU.

“His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will clear His threshing floor, gathering His wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” says John in Matt 3:12 (NIV).

The Prophets

Jesus said, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Have you been called evil lately? You’re in good company.

Moses, Aaron, Balaam, Joshua, Ruth, Esther, Samuel, David, sons of Asaph, Ahijah, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekial, Daniel,  Solomon, Ezra, Nehemiah, Nathan, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, John the Baptist…

…The Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage;” Judges 6:8 (NKJV).

1 Kings13  vs. 1, “And behold, a man of God went from Judah to Bethel by the word of the Lord…” :Vs 11, “an old prophet dwelt in Bethel.”

2 Kings 2:3, “Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha…”

“I delight to do Your will, O my God.” Psalm 40:8.

“Jesus gave them this answer: ‘Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.'” in John 5:19 (NIV).

The Nose Knows

Praying for fully healed senses: eyes, ears, nose, mouth, touch; physical and in the spiritual for discernment, especially spiritual eyes.

Ephesians 1:17-23 (KJV)

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him:

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,

Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.”

“Give therefore Thy servant an understanding heart to judge Thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this Thy so great a people?” Solomon prayer in 1 Kings 3:9 (KJV). (God granted his request in vs 11 and 12).

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.” 1 Corinthians 2:14-15.

Something New

Blood and water gushed out of Jesus’ side with the insertion of a sword (John 19:33-34).  This proved He was dead according to the movie “The Case for Christ,” because water filled the lungs (Lee Stroebel’s journey of total submission to Jesus). So when Jesus was resurrected, it was all God.

For God so loved the world, He gave…John 3:16.

Attitudes to be….Our Pastor friend on Sunday taught on “the Beatitudes” in Matthew 5:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Matthew 5:3-12 (NKJV)

Praying for new revelations for you all from our Lord Father!  3 New things I recently learned: my husband showed me the falls near the old mill, which I never knew were there and passed near them everyday on my way to work;  What blood and water meant when Jesus’ side was pierced on the cross, (I’ve wondered this for 15 years and never heard an explanation before); and that the “Beatitudes” are attitudes and not from the word “beautiful.”

“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 (NKJV). (It was no accident my co-worker hung a spring wreath Jan 4th!)

7 Times A Day

I will praise You, reads Psalm 119:164.

Pastor Carol Arnott (Catch the Fire Toronto church) taught that every 10 minutes when her timer went off, she praised and worshipped God!

There is no limit to the number of times and ways we can praise God.

Daniel 6:10, says: “Daniel prayed 3 times a day.”

Father God, thank You for being the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb 13:8).  Thank You for this new month, year and season in our lives.  Thank You for the fresh wind, fresh start – halleluia, I will give thanks to You forever (Psalm 30:12)!

Turn away my eyes

“Make me walk in the path of Your commandments,
For I delight in it.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to covetousness.
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your way.” Ps 119:35-37 (NKJV).

“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Colossians 3:5 (NKJV).

Manasseh put away the altars to other gods in 2 Chronicles 33:15.

Jesus says the eye is the lamp of the body in Matthew 6:22.

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'” Hebrews 13:5.

“Their precious things shall not profit.” Isaiah 44:9 (NKJV).

*Put away your addictions that are idols and be one with God the Father.

John 17:20-23 (NKJV): I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”

All Things Are Possible

David said in Psalm 34:7 and 17 “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.”

Jesus said in Mark 10:24-27:

And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”

But Jesus looked at them and said, With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.

Gabriel to Mary in Luke 1:35-37:

And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.  For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Do you now believe?” Jesus replied in John 16:31 (NIV).

Forgive us, Father Jesus, You’re always honest and true and we are wrong when we lose faith in You.  You’re exceeding abundantly MORE than all we could ever ask for or imagine (Eph 3:20).  Praise God!

It’s Impossible for God to Lie

Hebrews 6:17-20 (NKJV):

Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

Proverbs 6:16-17, These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,”

Proverbs 11:1, “The LORD detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with Him.”

Prov 20:23, “The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please Him.”

Jesus says in Luke 12:2, “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.”

O Lord, we can’t run from You, nor do we want to.

This Hebrews verse jumped off the page when I found it the other day. I recalled a few years ago speaking with a stranger, me with my Bible, he stated the little he knew about God and what He had to do in this man’s life: God can’t lie.  After writing this blog, I found this wonderful article: http://counselingoneanother.com/2011/06/27/a-dozen-reasons-god-hates-lying-liars/
