Stronger

He increased His people greatly, And made them stronger than their enemies.” Psalm 105:24

“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength.” Proverbs 8:12, 14

“The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, If it is found in the way of righteousness.” Proverbs 16:31

“Then he said to them, ‘Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.’ ” Nehemiah 8:10

“The comeback is always stronger than the setback”

Anonymous

Yet the righteous will hold to his way, And he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger.” Job 17:9

That’s Not Food

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:2, 5 (KJV)

Many of us read labels these days amidst the controversy over what’s healthy to eat. My son once said, ‘I’m not feeding my kid food that’s made in a lab.”

Do you wonder why these are still being added? high glucose corn syrup, sodium phosphate, aspartame, food dye, etc. We’re all in a hurry sometimes, do you at least try to limit the bad stuff to 5%?

Love of Money

“Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’

“And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

“So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them-walking, leaping, and praising God.”                  Acts 3:6-8

A man strode to the back of the bus, leaving a crumpled bill on the seat, which a woman hastily grabbed.  Sir, did you leave money on the seat?  He nodded not caring.

Can money:

  • heal you?
  • walk on water?
  • care about you?

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”  1 Timothy 6:10

The attraction to money makes people lie, break the law, ignore justice. So sad.

To Those Who Are Perishing

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”         1 Corinthians 1:18

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”                             2 Corinthians 4:3-4

Getting blank stares anyone when you talk about your faith? This reminds me of the idiom; All that glitters isn’t gold. Head knowledge won’t get you into heaven.

Worship the King

“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah”

Psalm 24:7-10

I’m not gonna worship money, I’m gonna worship You, my God and King!

“You are my King and my God, who decrees victories for Jacob.”

Psalm 44:4 (NIV)

And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace to you!’ 27 Then He said to Thomas, ‘Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.’ And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”                                          John 20:26-28

Humble Pie

“Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

As soon as I say “I’m humble,” I bumble.

Oswald Chambers, November 24th, My Utmost for His Highest:

“Well, I suppose I was expecting too much.” That sounds humble to say, but it means that your reliance on God is gone, and you are now relying on worldly opinion. The danger comes when, no longer relying on God, you neglect to focus your eyes on Him. Only when God brings you to a sudden stop will you realize that you have been the loser. Whenever there is a spiritual drain in your life, correct it immediately. Realize that something has been coming between you and God, and change or remove it at once.

But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you.”

Jesus in Luke 14:10

Lone Seagull

Flying alone, miles and miles from any ocean. Is he lost?  Beautiful, white and lovely, doing what God created him for.

Hebrews 11:8, “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.”

“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:8 (KJV)

SOAK

Heard this in my spirit the first day after planting starter vegetables in the garden, telling me to provide plenty of water.

A friend recently expounded: “Let the tiny roots find their way and spread out receiving nutrients, giving life to the plant’s growth.”

Mark 4:28 (KJV) “For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.”

“[The Bible training College’s] entire strength lies in the fact that here you are immersed in the truths of God to soak in them before Him.” Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, October 19th.

God, You decorated

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” Psalm 19:1

“…In Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”  Col 2:3

“Then God said, ‘Let the waters abound with abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” Gen 1:20

God, You’re beautiful to having created all of these things.

“Jesus as Your Husband”

For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.”

Isaiah 54:5

“Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
Will bring her into the wilderness,
And speak comfort to her.”

Hosea 2:14
