True Love

On the 6th day of Christmas my true love gave to me; 6 geese a laying…

“The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.”

Song 2:12

Received a prophetic Dayspring Christmas card this past December:

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:13

It touched me that the Greek word for love here is Agape / family, you think of the Father

What Do You Wish?

“Now it was so, when she came to him, that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, ‘What do you wish?’ ”

Joshua 15:18

“When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, ‘Do you want to be made well?’ ”              John 5:6

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

Psalm 37:4

When Someone Steals From You

There’s more than one easy answer!

Jesus says: “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” in Matthew 7:12

“Then Peter came to Him and said, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’   Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.’ ” Matthew 18:21-22

“People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house.”  Proverbs 6:30-31

Exodus 22:4, “If the theft is certainly found alive in his hand, whether it is an ox or donkey or sheep, he shall restore double.”

O Lord, Will You Rend The Heavens?

Oh, that You would rend the heavens!
That You would come down!
That the mountains might shake at Your presence—”

Isaiah 64:1

Will You provide the Bibles for the thirsty souls requesting them?

  • The Study Bible like mine?
  • The KJV?
  • The one to fit in her purse?
  • The NKJV?
  • The large print one?
  • All?

How many people are hungry & thirsty for Your Word? To hold Your Book in their hands, to read whenever they can or need to?

Rain down, you heavens, from above,
And let the skies pour down righteousness;
Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation,
And let righteousness spring up together.
I, the Lord, have created it.”

Isaiah 45:8

Judge Righteously

“Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

“She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.”

Proverbs 31:9, 17 (KJV)

“And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel. And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.”

Judges 4:3-4 (KJV)

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Jesus in John 7:24 (KJV)

“Let It Be Dark?”

“Isn’t it supposed to be, ‘Let there be light?’ Don’t be so negative.” a friend quipped back to a minister.

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”

John 3:19-20

A Bible teacher said it’s time now for the Bride to make ready for Christ’s second coming. Stay focused on the Lord. And let go of those who are perishing.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”                                                                            Ephesians 5:8

“Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”                       Ephesians 6:16

In a Garden

Jesus was arrested:

“When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where was a garden, which He and His disciples entered… Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.” John 18:1, 12

God will comfort you:

“For the Lord will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.”  Isaiah 51:3

We receive work:

“Then the Lord God took [a]the man and put him in the garden of Eden to [b]tend and keep it.”   Genesis 2:15

We receive paradise:

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.”                Revelation 22:2-3

Disappointment

“I delight to do Thy will, O my God: yea, Thy law is within my heart.” Psalm 40:8

  • Church plant failure? It took a lot of money and people’s resources, the Pastor said.
  • Business disaster?
  • Divorce?
  • Child loss? Hillary Scott’s song: ‘How is my pain part of Your plan?’

We’re not immune from these, but we get up again. Haven’t you all heard people say: I was following You, God, obeying You, then ‘the bottom drops out’?

Oswald Chambers, October 13, https://utmost.org/individual-discouragement-and-personal-growth/

“We may have the vision of God and a very clear understanding of what God wants, and yet when we start to do it, there comes to us something equivalent to Moses’ forty years in the wilderness.”

Blogging Rules

  • Glorify God: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all your strength.” Says Jesus in Mark 12:30
  • Be honest: give something true of yourself (Proverbs 11:3)
  • Be consistent: keep giving (Luke 6:38)
  • Minimize tags and categories (Ecclesiastes 5:2) – this is a hard one

God made each of us so unique, how could our blogs be the same then?
