Power Against Unclean Spirits

Matthew 10:

“And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.  Verse 1.

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received freely give.”  Verses 7-8.

Luke:

“Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.  And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.”                9:1-2.

“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, whither He Himself would come.  10:1

“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name.  And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on the serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  10:17-19.

Celebrate Jesus

 For a holiday – everyday!

Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 (NIV).

In John 2:7-10 (NIV) turning water into wine at the wedding!:

Jesus said to the servants, Fill the jars with water; so they filled them to the brim.

Then he told them, Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.

They did so,  and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.

Luke 15:4-7 (NKJV):

What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

John 16:33 (KJV): Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world

John 10:10, Jesus says: I came that they may have abundant life

“God wants His people happy” says Pat Robertson on 700 Club.

The Sword

And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God;” Ephesians 6:17.

“The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the  knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…”  2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NKJV).

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. ” writes Paul (again) in Hebrew 4:12 (NIV).

We can be heroes for Christ, sticking up for Him. Be partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).  He has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.  Amen. (Revelation 1:6).

Train Your Mouth To Play The Clarinet Again

“My lips shall praise You” Psalm 63:3

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1.

Psalm 150 (KJV).

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary: praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts: praise Him according to His excellent greatness.

Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp.

Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

Our Focus

Job 32:21 (NIV), “I will show no partiality, nor will I flatter anyone; for if I were skilled in flattery, my Maker would soon take me away.”

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer..” David prayed in Psalm 19:14 (KJV).

Proverbs:

  • “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”  20:5
  • “Flattery is deceitful” 26:28
  • “Those who flatter their neighbors are spreading nets for their feet.” 29:5
  • “Charm is deceitful” 31:30

“You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed–God is our witness.” 1 Thessalonians 2:5

Jude 16, 19 (KJV): “Murmerers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.”

Are we focused on our works & achievements and denying the work of the cross? making Christ’s cross of no effect (1 Corinthians 1:17)?

Be in the world, not of the world (John 17:11).  “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4 (KJV).

Have we surrendered to God and admitted our sin, so that He can heal us (James 5:16)?

God have mercy on me a sinner!” Luke 18:13.

The Elephant in the Room

“Jesus Christ hates the wrong in man, and Calvary is the estimate of His hatred.” Oswald Chambers, November 21st, My Utmost for His Hightest.

In your church, do they blaspheme the Lord by denying His ability to heal sickness? Or deny the truth of the Bible, the ultimate word of God?  Is it black & white? The difference between sin & purity; the flesh & being born in the Spirit (John 3:6-7)?  They can “repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” says Jesus in Matt 4:17.

Forgive us for our unbelief, O God (Mk 9:24)!

Matt 4:23 (NIV):

“Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

Hebrews 13:8 (NIV):

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Jesus says in Matthew 18:15-17 (NIV):

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you.  If they listen to you, you have won them over.  But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.(Deut 19:15)‘ If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Luke 17:4 (NIV),

Even if he sins against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.

James 5:19-20 (KJV):

“Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”

Jude 21-23 (KJV):

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

God of Truth vs Father of Lies

You can take the devil out of the person, if they’re willing.  Choose this day whom you’ll serve.

God of Truth:

Deut 32:4, “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous & upright is He.”

Psalm 119:60, “the entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”

John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.'”

Father of Lies:

John 8:44, “ You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, kill and destroy.

Rev 21:27, “But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

What Spirit are you?

Luke 9:54-56 (KJV), “And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt Thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But He turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.  For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

Derek Prince in “Take Heed That You’re Not Deceived” youtube teaching says,

In the book of Mark, 7 kinds of spirits are mentioned. MK 16:9 (KJV), “Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils.”

Deuteronomy 22:9, 11, “Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled. Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.”

Derek Prince asks, are we sowing mixed seeds?  flesh & spirit, linen & wood, pure & manmade?

Base everything on the scriptures, beware of fantasy especially from t.v.  Keep it Simple Stupid (KISS), attributed to Corrie ten Boom.  Exercise your sense of discernment as in Hebrews 5:12-14:

“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

Cultivate love of the truth in 2 Thes 2:9-12:

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

“That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Hate Sin

Jesus says in Matt 6:9 (KJV), “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” Pastor John Bevere teaches how God is holy and He hates sin and we need to, too.

Dark & light can’t mix, says another Pastor.  The scripture is clear.

Don’t compromise with the enemy, or ‘the world’ (see http://www1.cbn.com/teaching/the-consequences-of-compromise). Read James 4:4.

Gave my heart to the Lord again today: “Lord, I’m sorry for when I hurt You & abandoned You, for when I sided with the world and turned away from You and Your truth, give me a brand new life from this day forward and live in me forever.”

Smith Wigglesworth says, when you say you’re born again, you’re prophesying (John 3:5, 1 Peter 1:23).

Someone saved my life tonight.

Deliver Us From Evil

Jesus prayed in Matthew 6:13.

Don’t appease the dragon, kick him out of your house.

Eph 6:11, “Stand against the devil’s schemes.”

Desiring God, Interview with John Piper:

“First, I think when it says “deliver us from evil,” it probably does mean “the evil one,” but it works either way because he is behind every temptation. The primary strategy of the devil is to deceive us. He is primarily a deceiver. Revelation 12:9 says, “The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world.” John 8:44 says, “When he lies, he speaks out of his own nature.” So the strategy of the devil in bringing about temptation and evil is to deceive us, to put thoughts in your mind or feelings in your soul that are false. He lies to us about where happiness is best to be found.

“So how does Jesus ask the Father to deliver us? And we have another prayer, interestingly enough, besides the Lord’s prayer. And Jesus prays the same thing, only he expands it and answers the question. Compare John 17 to the Lord’s prayer. And here is what Jesus prays in John 17:15: “I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.” And then verse 17 says, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” Now that should not be a surprise to us that he says to the Father, “There is an evil one out there. His primary strategy is deceit. Please, guard them from that evil one. And here is the way I think you should do it.” Like the Son could tell the Father how to do it; namely, in the truth. “Make them holy in the truth; your word is truth.””
