the young man stated. He wanted to impress on me where the Bible says you’re not to condemn a man for stealing in order to eat. That’s a great start!
I’m reading this book “The Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning, Multnomah Books, 1990. It’s dynamite about how stuck up we all are. It’s based on Matthew 9:9-13, where Jesus is eating and having fellowship with so called sinners, you’ll look at people differently when you read it, too.
“for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 (NIV)
“People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house.” Proverbs 6:30-31 (NKJV)
“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old.” Caleb says to Joshua 14:10 (NKJV)
No one will stand in your way when God has made a way. You are a son or daughter of He Who rules the universe! Amen. Though others meant evil toward you, God means to for good (Gen 50:20).
Psalm 41:2, “The LORD will protect him and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed upon the earth; And do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.”
It doesn’t matter what religion you call yourself, when God finds you, you’ll never be the same.
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you andappointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Fatherin My name He may give you.” Jesus says in John 15:16 (NKJV)
“And I,if I amlifted up from the earth, will drawall peoples to Myself.” John 12:32
“In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.Allthings have been delivered to Me by My Father, andno one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” Luke 10:21-22
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them,‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheepwhich was lost!’I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repentsthan over ninety-ninejust persons whoneed no repentance.” Luke 15:4-7
“I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments.” Ps 119:176
“Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” Psalm 33:3-5 (NKJV).
“But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Jesus teaches in Luke 12:31-32.
“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” Revelation 4:11.
Dear Lord, we love You beyond words. “I woke up today,” that’s enough reason to dwell with You, thank You, glorify You, and see Your work in everything around us.
***Thanks all you readers and writers! You’re in my prayers as well, thanks for all the likes!
Proverbs 19:8,16, “He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will find good.”
“He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,But he who is careless of his ways will die.”
God stresses our care of our souls because it’s the part of us that is eternal. When our bodies die, our soul goes either to Lord Jesus for eternal life or to eternal death sans God. We can choose.
“Like the cold of snow in time of harvest is a faithful messenger to those who send him, for he refreshes the soul of his masters.” Proverbs 25:13
“Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord. ‘Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it? And though its waves toss to and fro, yet they cannot prevail; though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.” Jeremiah 5:22
“You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.” Psalm 104:9 (NIV)
“He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many curses.” Proverbs 28:27 (NKJV)
“Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
“And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.” Jesus says in Luke 6:30-31.
“Then He brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
“Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will be no means enter it.’ And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.” Mark 10:13-16
