“The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.” Psalm 24:1
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so.” Proverbs 3:27
“Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. 14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” 1 Chronicles 29:13-14, David’s prayer
Lord Father, we give thanks to You, for providing our homes, businesses and paychecks in Jesus’ name.
A good pastor friend told me once I had to learn confrontation. It was so biblical and he was right.
“More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” Jesus in Luke 11:28
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Paul in Colossians 3:16 (NIV)
It makes me feel bad for the Pastor who wanted to be well liked and never corrected anyone. The congregation suffered from devil worship and alcoholism.
“Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.” James 3:1 (NLT)
“So Jesus answered and said to him, ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ The blind man said to Him, ‘Raboni, that I may receive my sight.'”
“Then Jesus said to him, ‘God your way; your faith has made you well,’ And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.”
“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.” Joel 2:28
“And Jesus said, ‘For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.'”
“Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, ‘Are we blind also?'” John 9:39-40
Dear Lord Jesus, have mercy on us and give us spiritual sight, in Your Holy name. Amen
“Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18
As soon as I say “I’m humble,” I bumble.
Oswald Chambers, November 24th, My Utmost for His Highest:
“Well, I suppose I was expecting too much.” That sounds humble to say, but it means that your reliance on God is gone, and you are now relying on worldly opinion. The danger comes when, no longer relying on God, you neglect to focus your eyes on Him. Only when God brings you to a sudden stop will you realize that you have been the loser. Whenever there is a spiritual drain in your life, correct it immediately. Realize that something has been coming between you and God, and change or remove it at once.
“But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you.”
