The Unjust Steward

“And so I say to you make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.” Luke 16:9

This literally happened where a woman lost her job/apartment, but immediately moved in with a friend whom she’d helped previously.

Jesus in Luke 16: “He also said to His disciples:

‘There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods.”

“So he called him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.” Luke 16:1-2

“Then the steward said within himself, ‘What shall I do? … I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.'” Luke 16:3-4

“Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ So he said, ‘one hundred measures of wheat.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill and write eighty.’ So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd than the sons of Light.” Luke 16:7-8

“And so I say to you make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.” Luke 16:9

Learned So Much

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.” Psalm 119:67 (KJV)

A friend said he was glad he had been sick because he learned so much about healthy eating and eating according to one’s bloodtype. It’s great to feel some power and sense of achievement in gaining strength, overcoming an illness. Also, when God helps us. And there’s that proverbial silver lining you can find in any cloud.

Oswald Chambers, “My Utmost” August 20th: “It’s the sick person who really knows what health is.”

Be Angry

…and do not sin”

Paul says in Ephesians 4:26

“Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?” Paul again in 2 Corinthians 11:29 (NKJV)

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” Jesus in John 7:24

“Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.

“And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.” Jesus in Matt 21:12-13

“Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with them.” Proverbs 28:4

This is for my friend, Keri, who had fingers pointed at her because she was indignant at wrong doing.  Have you too been blamed from unbelievers who tried to provoke you?

Jesus Is God

“I and My Father are one.” John 10:3, says Jesus.

During a Bible study last year, I had to state: “Jesus is God,” because they were comparing Jesus to other prophets in the Bible.  You know when it insults God, you have to say something.

Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.  And 1/3 of the Triune God.

Song in my heart: “My God, just thinking about You Jesus, blows my mind.”

Thanks for all the love and page referrals, y’all!

God is the God of:

  • Order – 1 Corinthians 14:40
  • Peace – Isaiah 9:6; John 14:27
  • Truth – John 14:6
  • Life – Genesis 2:7
  • Knowledge & Understanding – Proverbs 14:6
  • Light – 1 John 1:5
  • Wisdom – Proverbs 4:7

A friend’s church where the Worship singing seemed authentic, but not the forced drama and 30 year old testimonies.  Thankfully, some of the children were unaffected by the drama of the Pastor screaming into the mic, woman shaking and crying with emotionalism.

“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.” 2 Peter 3:3

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” Jesus in John 16:13 (NKJV)

Justice Day

“For I, the LORD, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them.” Isaiah 61:8 (NLT)

So many need justice. A stolen phone was returned. Friends’ Unemployment, Disability cases. Suffering emotional and physical abuse. False accusations from so-called Christian leaders.

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Jesus says in Matt 5:6 (KJV)

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices–mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law–justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” Matthew 23:23 (NLT)

“Now You Know What To Pray For”

Heard this in my spirit after visiting some relatives.  They will be saved, in Jesus’ name.

“They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.’” Acts 16:31 (NIV)

Sharing this word as Prophecy is not for private use (2 Peter 1:20). Time is never wasted when God is in the mix. Isn’t it good to know that He understands and has a plan?

God Loves People

“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Jesus in Matthew 5:45 (KJV).

God loves even the ugly ones, the ones you hate and the “lesser than’s.”

“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus in Matt 5:3

“After this manner pray, Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.” Matt 6:9

Born Again

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.” 1 John 5:4 (NKJV)

Jesus says to Nicodemus in John 3

“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'” John 3:3

“Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ the wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:7-8

Asking a book dealer if a DVD titled, “Born Again,” was about what Jesus and Peter spoke of, he said it was a new product and gave me the brush off.  God is not fooled. No coincidence that I found new “Born” leather sandles in a 2nd hand store that day. Thank You Dad!

1 Peter 1:22-23, “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,”

“King of Kings

and Lord of Lords, is Jesus,”

the young man stated. He wanted to impress on me where the Bible says you’re not to condemn a man for stealing in order to eat.  That’s a great start!

I’m reading this book “The Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning, Multnomah Books, 1990.  It’s dynamite about how stuck up we all are.  It’s based on Matthew 9:9-13, where Jesus is eating and having fellowship with so called sinners, you’ll look at people differently when you read it, too.

“for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 (NIV)

“People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house.” Proverbs 6:30-31 (NKJV)
