Be Angry

…and do not sin”

Paul says in Ephesians 4:26

“Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?” Paul again in 2 Corinthians 11:29 (NKJV)

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” Jesus in John 7:24

“Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.

“And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.” Jesus in Matt 21:12-13

“Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with them.” Proverbs 28:4

This is for my friend, Keri, who had fingers pointed at her because she was indignant at wrong doing.  Have you too been blamed from unbelievers who tried to provoke you?

Read The Ingredients

More than the nutrition label, the actual ingredients matter.  People may get more out of eating whole foods and less preservatives and salt.

Same with our hearts’ character.

“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Jesus says in Matthew 7:18-20 (NKJV)

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” Jesus in John 7:24.

“But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in kings’ courts.  But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet,

“This is he of whom it is written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.’

“For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Luke 7:25-28

“Seek ME and You’ll Find ME”

Do you ever ask, ‘Where are You, LORD?,’ as I’ve done? Above, and in scripture, is His answer. God is the answer, He sees you and loves you. He’ll show you the truth.

Psalm 27:8 (NKJV), “When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, LORD, I will seek.'”

Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV), “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”

Deuteronomy 4:29, “But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Jesus teaches in Matthew 7:7, 11 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

Face to Face

“She said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” Martha to Jesus in John 11:27 (NKJV).

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:12.

“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me… When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, Lord, I will seek.'” King David to Father God in Psalm 27:5,8

Our Sunday sermon touched on Jesus meeting with Martha and Mary and raising Lazarus from the grave. What moments of interaction with the Lord Jesus Christ! Many of us wonder would we know Jesus as Lord and Master if we were alive back then? But the whole thing now is to believe in our hearts totally without having seen Him.

Wake Up Call

James 1:1-3 (NIV), “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

Jesus says, Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.” Matthew 23:23 (NKJV).

Psalm 51:4, says, “Against You only have I sinned”

Verse 6, “You desire truth in the inward parts.”

James 1:11 (NIV), “For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.”

Psalm 119:71 (NKJV), “It is good for me that I have been afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.

O Lord?  May we never be ashamed, but come to You with our hearts wide open, turning away from our sin and knowing Your love.

Peter Learned To Read & Spell

Nursery rhyme goes:

Peter, Peter, pumpkin eater

Had a wife and couldn’t keep her

Peter learned to read & spell, then he kept her very well.

The more my new husband loves me the way our loving Father does, the better loved I feel!

The more our Christian friends pray for us, the more loved we are.

1 Thessalonians 4:17, “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

2 Thessalonians 2:15-17, “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.  Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.”

1 Peter 2:17, “Honour all men, Love the brotherhood.  Fear God.  Honour the king.”

Answered Prayer Wall

Giving God all the glory, thanks, praise and honor!  Remembering His great love!

You deserve all the glory and honor, we praise Your holy name! Thank You Father, Thank You Jesus!

After seeing a wall in a Vineyard sanctuary devoted to Answered Prayers, we made one wall of the bedroom devoted to God’s answered prayers in our lives!  At the Vineyard, anyone can add an answered prayer with the paper and pen nearby.

Ours is a white board, entitled, “GOD Answers Prayer,” encircled with cork to which we pin notes of thanks and praise about answered prayer.

And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15 (KJV).

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; His love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1 (NIV)

Our Focus

Job 32:21 (NIV), “I will show no partiality, nor will I flatter anyone; for if I were skilled in flattery, my Maker would soon take me away.”

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer..” David prayed in Psalm 19:14 (KJV).

Proverbs:

  • “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”  20:5
  • “Flattery is deceitful” 26:28
  • “Those who flatter their neighbors are spreading nets for their feet.” 29:5
  • “Charm is deceitful” 31:30

“You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed–God is our witness.” 1 Thessalonians 2:5

Jude 16, 19 (KJV): “Murmerers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.”

Are we focused on our works & achievements and denying the work of the cross? making Christ’s cross of no effect (1 Corinthians 1:17)?

Be in the world, not of the world (John 17:11).  “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4 (KJV).

Have we surrendered to God and admitted our sin, so that He can heal us (James 5:16)?

God have mercy on me a sinner!” Luke 18:13.
