The Counsel of the Lord

“The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.”

Psalm 33:11

People are angry with You, Lord God, they don’t know You, they don’t want to be told what’s right or wrong, instead they want to be Judge. But You are Judge and You are good. Bless Your Holy Name, Lord Father.  I love You. To think how You love us and care for us and Your plans include our ‘little lives’ (like Heidi Baker says)!

I Do What My Father Tells Me

“For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.”

John 12:49

“‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

Matthew 19:19

My friends take such loving care of their older parents.  I wish they’d let the rest of the country how to care for their elders.
Other countries keep them at home and honor them similar to my friends in the US, and there’s no such thing as nursing homes.
Sadly, many older Americans died in nursing homes during the Covid 19 virus. There’s enough blame to go around, but is there a solution for the condition of our hearts?

Listen to your father, who gave you life,
    and do not despise your mother when she is old.”

Proverb 23:22 – BibleGateway

God, I pray for Your mercy and wisdom. In Jesus’ name.

The Big Picture

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Ephesians 2:10 (New Living Translation)

We were jokingly taught in school that the chemicals our bodies are made up with would gain less than $1.00 if sold.

“A rose by any other name is still a rose.” William Shaekespeare

Whatever you call them, each one of us is a person: fetus, enemy, “God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). He does not see color, fame, finances, etc. No partiality

“Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 10:19

Christian Intellectuals

“Jesus answered him, ‘The first of all the commandments is, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment.’

Mark 12:29-30 BibleGateway

“Walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:16

Do some Pastors come off simplistically brainy and cold to you? Like our walk should be so easy if you just do A, B and C? God’s word is the ultimate Preacher, simply because no one compares with Him. He understands us who He made. He encompasses everything we’re about.

If we are to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, we need to relate to Him with all that we have, not just our minds.

Babies’ Rights

King Solomon saves a baby’s life (1 Kings 3:16-28), he’s known as wisest person in the word aside from Jesus.

Nathan, the Lord’s prophet defends a little lamb in 2 Samuel 12:1-25, analogous to a defenseless person.

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.”

Heavenly Father, we lift up to You, our brothers and sisters in arms, in Jesus’ name, please remove the dark cloud of lies.  Restore their identity in You, because You’ve made them for a purpose, a hope and a future.

Higher Standard

In Pastor Tim Keller’s The Reason for God, 2008, he quotes one of many former athiests: Christians have a “higher standard” following Jesus, than she thought she had by being a moral person.

“Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God – what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.” Romans 12:2 (Good News Translation w/ Apocrypha GNTA)

Matthew 5:

“Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.”    Verse 28 (NKJV)

“And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”           Verse 30 (NKJV)

Psalm 61

To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David.

Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For You have been a shelter for me,
A strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

For You, O God, have heard my vows;
You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.
You will prolong the king’s life,
His years as many generations.
He shall abide before God forever.
Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!

So I will sing praise to Your name forever,
That I may daily perform my vows.
