Everything is God’s

“The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.”  Psalm 24:1

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so.”  Proverbs 3:27

“Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.  14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”  1 Chronicles 29:13-14, David’s prayer

Lord Father, we give thanks to You, for providing our homes, businesses and paychecks in Jesus’ name.

God, You did Something New Again!

Birds seemingly flying backwards, watching on a train. Beauty new everyday! Glory to You, Creator, Father God!

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”

Habakkuk 2:14 (NIV)

It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  23 They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

Writing

My heart is overflowing with a good theme;
I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.”

Psalm 45:1

“‘Writing,’ he patiently tried to persuade his doubtful daughter, ‘is man’s highest calling. Words are the emotional food that feed the hungry heart and the soul.'” Page 44 in Linda Droeger’s Bound By Love.

Take It

The world is not ours, heaven is.

“And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.’”   John 20:22-24

“Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. ”  Jesus in Matthew 11:11-12

You Are A Flower

“The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come…” Song 2:12

Old prophecy I received that I am a flower in God’s garden, swaying and smiling in the sun.

I proclaim you’re each special, made for a purpose and God can’t do without you.  Some may look similar, but each unique. Let Him who sees the heart attract and beautify you.

“Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.” Psalm 119:73 (NIV)

My Favorite Author

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”   Hebrews 12:2

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”   1 Corinthians 14:33 (KJV)

A friend listed some of her favorite writers, suddenly I thought, I read the Bible more than even Christian authors. Bibles make great Christmas gifts, too, even specifically for children.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”   2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)

“That’s My Dad”

“His name is Daddy,” a little boy informed us on the bus pointing, the man nodded & said smiling, “that’s right.”

The sweetness of the moment and the concerted smiles all around made me wonder, do we know who our Father in heaven is?

Romans 8:15

“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.'”

Glory in This

“Don’t let the wise brag of their wisdom.
Don’t let heroes brag of their exploits.
Don’t let the rich brag of their riches.
If you brag, brag of this and this only:
That you understand and know Me.
I’m God, and I act in loyal love.
I do what’s right and set things right and fair,
and delight in those who do the same things.
These are my trademarks.”
    God’s Decree.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 The Message

(Bible Gateway)

Part of this was quoted at church the other week!

“Surely you shall call a nation you do not know,
And nations who do not know you shall run to you,
Because of the Lord your God,
And the Holy One of Israel;
For He has glorified you.”  Isaiah 55:5

“In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.” Psalm 62:7

It’s Who Ya Know

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”                           Jesus praying in John 17:3

“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,”              Philippians 3:10

Jesus Tested Philip

“Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, ‘Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?’But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.”                   John 6:5-6

John 14

Vs. 9, “Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

Vs. 11, “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.”

Will Jesus test us too?

Acts 8

Vs. 26, “Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert.”

Vs. 35, “Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.”

“Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.”   Psalm 7:9
