Purple Robe

“Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, ‘Behold the Man!'”

John 19:5

When my Chrisitan cousin was failing from brain cancer, her sister-in-law dreampt she was buying her a purple robe.  Which she did buy and gave her for her last birthday on earth. Jesus’ robe was a mock royalty. My cousin’s robe didn’t indicate healing.

But You God, have the ultimate meaning for symbols and our lives. Praise God and Father, Lover of our souls.

Your Spirit is Alive

“And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”   Romans 8:10

The library is alive, but still closed; the other week they put out a cart of free books, similar to what they do when the library is open.  The employees have been working behind the scenes and pretty soon they will open curbside service.

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

John 3:8

That Makes Sense

“But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.”     1 John 2:5

“Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.” Proverbs 2:5

I pray you receive the Lord’s revelation of all you are asking.  He alone can make sense of what boggles the minds in us and any scholar or president. In Jesus’ name.

Wake Up

Thanks Karl Gerber for the photo!

“God’s getting our attention,” said Nicky Gumbel of Alpha Ministries about the current virus epidemic.

Matt 24:42, “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”

Father God, we turn to You.  We’re at a loss, we’re scared, You’re God who never sleeps, thank You for providing all of our needs, for healing the sick, strengthening the weak, giving us Your word, life, love and future.

“It is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11

Hands Off MY Children

“Do not touch My anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.”

1 Chronicles 16:22

  • 2 Tim 1:8b-9, “According to the power of God, Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, …according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.”
  • Ephesians 1:4, “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.”
  • Jeremiah 29:11, My thoughts toward you are peace, a future and a hope
  • Mark 10:14, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.”
  • Matt 21:16, “”Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You’ve perfected praise.”
  • Ephesians 1:11, “In Him also we’ve obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.”
  • Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in  the womb I knew you.”
  • Romans 8:29-30, Whom He foreknew; He predestined, conformed to His Son’s image, He called, justified and glorified.

Matt 8:10, “The children’s angels face God.”

Anti-Christ?

How can we be aware of the anti-Christ? a man asked me.

“Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the

Father and the Son.”

1 John 2:22

(also, see 1 John 2:18-23)

My first thought to answer him is that you need to know the Word of God, and be filled with His Spirit. Jesus says, “the Spirit of Truth will tell you all things.” in John 16:13.

Remembering teachings from Daniel and Revelation about the end of time and the anti-Christ; he’s going to be popular and perform miracles, he’ll be a false teacher simply because he disagrees with the Word of God and is God’s enemy and our enemy.

“God is rich in mercy” Ephesians 2:4

**Read the Bible and allow the Holy Spirit to talk to you, and you won’t get fooled.

Spiritual Adultery

Thanks to Irina Iriser for the stunning picture.

Deuteronomy 5:21, “You shall not covet”

Colossians 3:5, “…Put to death…covetousness, which is idolatry”

“You left your first Love”

Revelation 2:4

Wow, the Bible’s really serious here about this, in a lot of other books, too, especially Hosea. We all fall short, but when You get to know God in a relationship, You begin to understand how much He loves us. So much stuff gets in the way, even works and we get distracted and competitive, when He wants to be First in our lives.  Like setting aside special times in the day with Him, a friend does it at 3:16 in the afternoon, I love the mornings with Him.
