Receive Sight

“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Mark 10:47

“So Jesus answered and said to him, ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ The blind man said to Him, ‘Raboni, that I may receive my sight.'”

“Then Jesus said to him, ‘God your way; your faith has made you well,’ And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.”

Mark 10:51-52

“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”   Joel 2:28

“And Jesus said, ‘For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.'”

“Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, ‘Are we blind also?'”                                                   John 9:39-40

Dear Lord Jesus, have mercy on us and give us spiritual sight, in Your Holy name. Amen

Humble Pie

“Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

As soon as I say “I’m humble,” I bumble.

Oswald Chambers, November 24th, My Utmost for His Highest:

“Well, I suppose I was expecting too much.” That sounds humble to say, but it means that your reliance on God is gone, and you are now relying on worldly opinion. The danger comes when, no longer relying on God, you neglect to focus your eyes on Him. Only when God brings you to a sudden stop will you realize that you have been the loser. Whenever there is a spiritual drain in your life, correct it immediately. Realize that something has been coming between you and God, and change or remove it at once.

But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you.”

Lone Seagull

Flying alone, miles and miles from any ocean. Is he lost?  Beautiful, white and lovely, doing what God created him for.

Hebrews 11:8, “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.”

“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:8 (KJV)

“No One Will Bother You”

“The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.” Psalm 34:7

When this young man, Michael, said the above, defending me from a cursing and drinking man, I proclaimed, “You are someone’s son!” And, “You’re like the archangel.”

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”  Hebrews 13:2 (NKJV)

Jude 1:9, (KJV), “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”

Stand Up For Jesus

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Jesus in John 3:16

Jesus Christ the only son of God, Praise You, Lord Jesus for all You’ve done for us, who are Your children, Your friends.  “It is finished,” You said.  Forever & ever Your work is complete, and You are seated on the throne in Heaven next to the Father.  Amen.

We are hurting for You, Lord, when people use Your name in vain and ignore who You are.

“When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then bowing his head, he gave up his spirit.” John 19:30 (KJV)

God, You did Something New Again!

Birds seemingly flying backwards, watching on a train. Beauty new everyday! Glory to You, Creator, Father God!

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”

Habakkuk 2:14 (NIV)

It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  23 They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

Writing

My heart is overflowing with a good theme;
I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.”

Psalm 45:1

“‘Writing,’ he patiently tried to persuade his doubtful daughter, ‘is man’s highest calling. Words are the emotional food that feed the hungry heart and the soul.'” Page 44 in Linda Droeger’s Bound By Love.

Satisfied and Content

“And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?”  Jesus in Luke 16:11 (NLV)

“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

The words, satisfied and content, kept coming up in my heart one day, maybe reading Psalm 119, 125 and 138 encouraged me.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” Psalm 107:8-9 (KJV)

Layers

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

“While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.  For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

“For we walk by faith, not be sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7

Layers of atmosphere, spirits good & evil.  Pay attention to Him, our Father.  Agree with His Holy Spirit.  A recent meditation class wants you to empty your mind, but fill it with what?
