“It Is Done”

The Lord said this after a time of interceding for some friends.

John 19:30 (NIV), “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

God is so faithful, much more than we are.  Though His days are like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day.  Don’t worry, He’s got this, whatever you need or are praying for. Just trust Him, to complete it.

Take this ‘word’ for yourselves and whatever you’re believing Father God for.

Pray for the Witches & Wizards

We don’t hate them back because they hate us.  Jesus says love your neighbor, and with His help all things are possible.  A self-proclaimed witch spiked my drink as a trick.  “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34).

“Love never fails” 1 Corinthians 13:8

“Love covers a multitude of sins” 1 Peter 5:5

“…not returning evil for evil, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:9

Isaiah 9:2, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”

Honesty Rules

Writing this blog, I committed to give something true of myself almost daily, while honoring God.  It’s really a stretch to give out and not hold back.  The old tendency to hide doesn’t fly here.

We heard an honest testimony from a man in a Christian rehab, rare.  He had nothing to hide, nothing to lose, nowhere to go but up.

“Sincerity means that the appearance & the reality are exactly the same.” Oswald Chambers in “Studies in the Sermon on the Mount.”

Prov 19:22, “What is desired in a man is kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar.”

First Thing

One morning on route to work I decided to speak life, to actively reach higher, look higher, speak good things.  Later I saw a newspaper heading on a lobby table: ‘Life & Death.’  “Life & Death are in the power of the tongue,” Proverbs 18:21.

  • First thing: Whoever desires to be first shall be slave of all (Mark 10:44)
  • First thing: I AM WHO I AM has sent me (Exodus 3:14)
  • First thing: He is the Savior of the world (John 4:42)
  • First thing Honor your father & mother (Ephesians 6:2)
  • First thing: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul & all your strength. And love your neighbor as yourselves (Luke 10:27).

Treasures

Psalm 119:72, “The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of coins of gold and silver.”

Mark 10: 23-27, “Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, ‘How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!‘ And the disciples were astonished at His words.  But Jesus answered again and said to them, ‘Children, ow hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.‘ And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, ‘Who then can be saved?’ But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.‘”

1 Corinthians 3:11-13, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.”

2 Corinthians 1:20-22, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”

Titus 2:13-14, “looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”

Acts 3:6, “Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.'”

The Sick Need a Doctor

Mark 2:16-17 (NIV), “When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw Him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked His disciples: “Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
“On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.””

Luke 4:40-41 (The Message), “When the sun went down, everyone who had anyone sick with some ailment or other brought them to him. One by one he placed his hands on them and healed them. Demons left in droves, screaming, “Son of God! You’re the Son of God!” But he shut them up, refusing to let them speak because they knew too much, knew him to be the Messiah.”

God of Truth vs Father of Lies

You can take the devil out of the person, if they’re willing.  Choose this day whom you’ll serve.

God of Truth:

Deut 32:4, “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous & upright is He.”

Psalm 119:60, “the entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”

John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.'”

Father of Lies:

John 8:44, “ You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, kill and destroy.

Rev 21:27, “But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

Breaking & Breakthrough

Isaiah 10:27, “It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”

Psalm 51:16-17, “For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering.  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken & contrite heart – these, O God, You will not despise.”

Psalm 147:3 (KJV), “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV), “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives; And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

2 Samuel 5:20, “ So David went to Baal Perazim and there he defeated the Philistines. He said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies like a flood.” And so that place is called Baal Perazim.”

Dear Lord Jesus, we surrender to You in Your love and wisdom. You have our best interests at heart.  Please give salvation to our families and friends as they surrender to You, too.

Psalm 72

Endow the king with your justice, O God,

the royal son with your righteousness.
May he judge your people in righteousness,
    your afflicted ones with justice.

May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,
the hills the fruit of righteousness.
May he defend the afflicted among the people
    and save the children of the needy;
    may he crush the oppressor.
May he endure as long as the sun,
as long as the moon, through all generations.
May he be like rain falling on a mown field,
    like showers watering the earth.
In his days may the righteous flourish
and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.

May he rule from sea to sea
and from the River to the ends of the earth.
May the desert tribes bow before him
and his enemies lick the dust.
May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores
    bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba and Seba
    present him gifts.
May all kings bow down to him
    and all nations serve him.

For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
He will take pity on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
for precious is their blood in his sight.

Long may he live!
May gold from Sheba be given him.
May people ever pray for him
and bless him all day long.
May grain abound throughout the land;
on the tops of the hills may it sway.
May the crops flourish like Lebanon
and thrive like the grass of the field.
May his name endure forever;
may it continue as long as the sun.

Then all nations will be blessed through him,
and they will call him blessed.

Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
    who alone does marvelous deeds.
Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.

This concludes the prayers of David son of Jesse.
