God’s An Open Book

You can’t control Him, but He will let His servants know what He’s doing (Amos 3:7).

God is love:

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.,” 1 Jn 4:7-10 (NKJV).

God is a consuming fire:

“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29 (KJV).

God is your Friend:

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his Master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you,” John 15:15 (NIV).

God is lovingkindness:

“They refused to listen, And did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You had performed among them; So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt But You are a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness; And You did not forsake them.” Nehemiah 9:17.

God is Spirit:

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 (NKJV).  “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galations 5:22-23 (NIV).

God is Holy:

“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.” Matthew 6:9:1 (NKJV).

The Lord reigns;
Let the peoples tremble!
He dwells between the cherubim;
Let the earth be moved!
The Lord is great in Zion,
And He is high above all the peoples.
Let them praise Your great and awesome name—
He is holy.

The King’s strength also loves justice;
You have established equity;
You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His footstool—
He is holy.

Moses and Aaron were among His priests,
And Samuel was among those who called upon His name;
They called upon the Lord, and He answered them.
He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar;
They kept His testimonies and the [c]ordinance He gave them.

You answered them, O Lord our God;
You were to them God-Who-Forgives,
Though You took vengeance on their deeds.
Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His holy hill;
For the Lord our God is holy.” Psalm 99 (NKJV).

Believe in the Light

“While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.” John 12:36 (NKJV).

“The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.”  Revelation 21:23-24 (NKJV).

“Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path,” Psalm 119:105.  Running through my mind this morning.

“The light shines in the darkness and the darkness does’t overcome it,” John 1:5.

“Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12 (AMP).

Praise the Lord

The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will praise the Lord.
Let your heart live forever!

All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the families of the nations
Shall worship before You.
For the kingdom is the Lord’s,
And He rules over the nations.

All the prosperous of the earth
Shall eat and worship;
All those who go down to the  dust
Shall bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep himself alive.

Psalm 22:26-29 (NKJV).

I Ain’t Got Time For That

The manager who called us out in the field only to complain or say something negative would sometimes get a click in his ear.  This hanging up was addressed at the meeting when my co-worker stated the above sentiment.

Same for Satan, who’s up to his old tricks.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Lord, You’re always good, always true, I magnify Your name and personality in my life! I love Your word! Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path (Ps 119-105). So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Ps 90:12).

Perspectives

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

And the Bible is foolishness to those who are perishing (1 Corinthians 1:18).

Misunderstandings, foot in mouth.

Come up higher (Revelations 4:1).

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8.

“Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.” Mark 11:22-25 (MSG).

Consecrate Yourselves

“Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.'” Joshua 3:5.

You alone are holy, dear Lord.

We were listening to a pod cast where the speaker talked about sacraments.  What I found near to that word in the Bible is consecrate and holy.  Our take is everything God does is holy or sacred and when we do things with Him, then those things are also holy like eating, praying, everything you give to the Lord or do unto Him (Colossians 3:23).

On a church trip 12 years ago, the Pastor prayed over every meal, I began doing the same upon returning home  — the Lord will give you revelation about eating when you pray before a meal. And you’ll be truly thankful.

“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” Proverbs 9:9-10 (KJV).

Here is a lovely article about consecration:   https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-consecration.html

We Are Not Our Own

An impromptu picnic at the park, just us two.  But a special benefit with a live band, a crowd, and many teenagers playing near the lake and our intended place to eat told us that when we give our lives to Christ, we don’t belong to ourselves.

“There is no such thing as a private life, or a place to hide in this world, for a man or woman who is intimately aware of and shares in the sufferings of Jesus Christ.” Oswald Chambers said in November 1, My Utmost for His Highest. (https://utmost.org/you-are-not-your-own/).

I read that marriage is a covenant with the Lord and in turn actually blesses their families and community around them in Tim Keller’s “The Meaning of Marriage.”  Some quotes from the book are here: https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/16321346-the-meaning-of-marriage-facing-the-complexities-of-commitment-with-the.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV).

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2 (NIV).

Pain

Walking through the Dollar Store, suddenly I thought of all the errors I made in my life, inwardly cringing I looked up and saw a sign that began with the word “PAIN.”   Appropriate.  You really appreciate Christ’s forgiveness and love when you can’t fix the past and can only look forward. God’s word says it’s important to be humble.

“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.” 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NIV).

“Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

‘God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.’” 1 Peter 5:5 (NKJV).

“It’s Not About Money”

The Lord told me this when I was taking a job.  It’s true that nearly every day I was there, God gave me a blog to write.  The money was secondary.

The Lord showed me things in the Spirit and I followed Jesus’ commands on loving, forgiving and praying for people. We encouraged each other and it was a surprise blessing to see scripture on the wall.

I’m sharing this because prophecy is for the body of Christ (1Corinthians 12:27). I was taught that when you hear a prophetic word, if it pertains to you it will ping in your heart and you can receive it for yourself, as in Isaiah 6:8 (NIV), “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'”

If you follow your heart and honor God and people, He will make you feel so alive, no matter what you’re doing – your living for Him and with Him.

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24 (NLT).

“If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.” John 12:26.

My Words

“I have put My words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of My hand– I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and who say to Zion, ‘You are my people.'” Isaiah 51:16 (NIV).

“Then the LORD put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth.” Jeremiah 1:9 (KJV).

Can you stand up for God? Do you unequivocally believe and trust Him and His words?

Don’t let anyone pull you into their line of thinking or say, I’m glad you’re one of us. Stand firm in your beliefs, God will reward your faithfulness to Him.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV).
