Sampson: “And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, you art barren, and bear not: but you shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray you, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, you shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines,” Judges 13:3-5.
Jesus: “And, behold, you shalt conceive in your womb, and bring forth a Son, and shalt call His name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of his father David: And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end,” Luke 1:31-33.
Samuel: “Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant you you petition that you have asked of Him. And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in your sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her. Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord,” 1 Samuel 1:17-20.
John: “There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light,” John 1:6-8.
My friend’s grandbaby, Scott, due to be born this weekend, healthy & strong for a purpose yet unknown (though doctors were saying the opposite). Ephesians 1:5, “He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will.” Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV), ” For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
