Be of Good Cheer, I Have Overcome The World

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 BibleGateway

“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

22And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

Ephesians 1:19-23 BibleGateway

Christian Intellectuals

“Jesus answered him, ‘The first of all the commandments is, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment.’

Mark 12:29-30 BibleGateway

“Walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:16

Do some Pastors come off simplistically brainy and cold to you? Like our walk should be so easy if you just do A, B and C? God’s word is the ultimate Preacher, simply because no one compares with Him. He understands us who He made. He encompasses everything we’re about.

If we are to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, we need to relate to Him with all that we have, not just our minds.

Breathe On Your People

“So Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.’

“And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.'” John 20:21-22

A Christian brother’s passing, saying his last words, “I can’t breath”

Jesus, no one dies in vain who knows You.

“O Lord, O Lord, come from the 4 winds, breathe on Your people”

Luke 23:43, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”

Purple Robe

“Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, ‘Behold the Man!'”

John 19:5

When my Chrisitan cousin was failing from brain cancer, her sister-in-law dreampt she was buying her a purple robe.  Which she did buy and gave her for her last birthday on earth. Jesus’ robe was a mock royalty. My cousin’s robe didn’t indicate healing.

But You God, have the ultimate meaning for symbols and our lives. Praise God and Father, Lover of our souls.

Your Spirit is Alive

“And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”   Romans 8:10

The library is alive, but still closed; the other week they put out a cart of free books, similar to what they do when the library is open.  The employees have been working behind the scenes and pretty soon they will open curbside service.

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

John 3:8

That Makes Sense

“But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.”     1 John 2:5

“Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.” Proverbs 2:5

I pray you receive the Lord’s revelation of all you are asking.  He alone can make sense of what boggles the minds in us and any scholar or president. In Jesus’ name.

Wake Up

Thanks Karl Gerber for the photo!

“God’s getting our attention,” said Nicky Gumbel of Alpha Ministries about the current virus epidemic.

Matt 24:42, “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”

Father God, we turn to You.  We’re at a loss, we’re scared, You’re God who never sleeps, thank You for providing all of our needs, for healing the sick, strengthening the weak, giving us Your word, life, love and future.

“It is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11
